Connecticut EV adoption is accelerating, and charging at home with a standard 120-volt outlet simply can’t keep up with daily driving demands. A Level 2 EV charger delivers up to eight times faster charging than a standard outlet, adding 20-30 miles of range per hour instead of 3-5. Miele Electric Power is a licensed Connecticut electrical contractor installing Level 2 EV charging stations for homeowners and businesses across the state, with the expertise to handle any panel capacity and charging equipment brand.

Level 1 vs Level 2 EV Charging: What's the Difference?

Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt household outlet and adds approximately 3-5 miles of range per hour. For most EV drivers, this means leaving your car plugged in overnight barely replaces the miles driven during the day, and falls far short for longer commutes or larger battery EVs. Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt dedicated circuit (the same voltage as a clothes dryer or electric range) and adds 20-30 miles of range per hour depending on your vehicle and charger output. A full charge overnight is achievable for most EVs, and many vehicles can be fully charged in 4-8 hours. Miele Electric Power installs the dedicated 240-volt circuit and the Level 2 charging unit (EVSE) at your home or business. We work with all major EV charger brands and can advise on the right equipment for your vehicle and electrical system. Connecticut may offer rebates and incentives for EV charger installation. We can help you understand what’s available.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I could not be happier with my experience with Miele Electric Power. From my first conversation with Carl on the phone, I knew that he knew what he was talking about, and there was no high-pressure salesmanship. He took charge of the project of installing my whole-house generator and maintained contact throughout the process. His workers were equally professional. I would recommend Miele Electric Power without qualifications.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The process for getting a generator estimate and its installation was very efficient with Carl Miele and the Miele Electric crew. Carl took the time to explain what our house would need without overselling us (which happened with other electricians). The work was completed efficiently from the installation of generator to the propane tanks to the building inspector’s approval. We are very happy to have chosen Miele electric. We recommend their services and Carl will be our electrician moving forward. We thank his company for their professionalism and expertise.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So far so good, but with an emergency generator, rubber meets the road when and if there is an issue and the response. However, everything Carl (owner) said he would do on installation and follow through went down just as he said it would. His people could not be nicer to deal with. What made me go with Miele Electric was the number of techs he has on staff. Other companies I priced out and had conversations with had 1-2 tech guys available which is huge when there could be an issue with my generator during a power outage.
Lastly, Miele was the only company of the 4 I entertained that the owner personally was involved from the get go. No leaving messages, getting put to an answering service, having to schedule the initial call weeks in advance, ect. Carl gave me his cell and had a written quote to me next day. As a business owner myself, that is a huge positive.
